Chelsey Taggart
DPT
Chelsey Taggart is the founder of ShoreFit Training and Rehab, where she combines her deep expertise in physical therapy with a passion for personalized care. Originally from Monmouth County, NJ, Chelsey earned her B.S. in Health Performance and Fitness Management from Rowan University in 2016. She then pursued her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Kean University, graduating in 2019. After years of spending summers in Manahawkin with her grandparents, Chelsey decided to make the town her permanent home following graduate school.
Chelsey’s professional journey began in a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic, where she quickly recognized the importance of spending quality time with her clients to aid their recovery. Inspired by this experience, she founded ShoreFit in 2024 to offer customized physical therapy for individuals of all ability levels. Her passion for helping others drives her work, especially with clients facing challenges like Parkinson’s disease, post-operative knee recovery, low back pain, and balance impairments.
One of Chelsey’s most formative moments occurred during her training when she observed the almost magical transformation of a Parkinson’s patient using a specialized technique to improve his walking. Witnessing the immediate impact solidified her belief that she had chosen the right profession. Outside of her work, Chelsey lives in Manahawkin with her wife, Corrine, and their Goldendoodle, Colby.

Learn More about Dry Needling
Dry needling involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific “trigger points” or tight areas within muscles. These trigger points are often areas within the muscles. These trigger points are often areas of spasm or tension that can cause pain or discomfort. The goal is to stimulate the muscle or nerve, release tension, and improve blood flow to the area which can help reduce pain and improve movement. Unlike acupuncture, dry needling is grounded in Western medicine and focuses on muscle and facia tissues.

Caitlyn graduated from Stockton University with her doctorate in physical therapy in 2021. Immediately after graduating she found her passion in treating women’s pelvic health concerns in addition to her general outpatient therapy realm. This lead to Caitlyn becoming a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Caitlyn’s goal at ShoreFit Training is to decrease barriers to access individualized and specialized care for all patient demographics.
Client-Centered Approach
At ShoreFit, we understand that every individual is different.
